Clap Trap Associate Em Whitfield Brooks is a singer, songwriter, director, teacher, trainer and ex-clown who works with groups of all ages and levels of ability in the search for musical, vocal and personal liberation, collective harmony and increased freedom of expression.

She has led diverse singing, music and theatre projects since 1987, and works in schools, colleges, community and corporate settings across the UK and internationally, spending a lot of time encouraging teachers and ‘non-musicians’ to work with singing, music and communication skills in new and interesting ways.

Em was Advisor for Sing Up Vocal Force for three years and continues to work as a Sing Up Trainer. She is director of Ryedale Festival Community Opera and one half of vocal duo The Ruby Larks.
